There are substance abuse programs offered in or near Englewood that cater to both methadone and buprenorphine clients only, controlled medications which are administered in what is called opioid maintenance therapy. At programs which treat methadone and buprenorphine clients only, treatment therapies are limited beyond managing the medication and the primary treatment goal is to treat the withdrawal symptoms and put an end to the illicit drug use. Some clinics do deliver a limited amount of counseling and therapy as secondary services, and it is recommended and encouraged.
