Alcohol and drug abuse facilities for Vets are essential for the mental health and overall stability of Vets of all branches of the armed forces. Because drug and alcohol abuse and other mental health disorders are experienced at above average rates among Vets, it is crucial that they get the essential help they need because of such high suicide rates also associated with these disorders with our Vets.

Substance abuse facilities for Veterans in Only are available through the VA, with services that include efforts to address associated problems such as relationship problems, irritability, disturbed sleep, pain, depression, and/or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) which most commonly trigger addiction disorders among Vets. Treatment for addiction and associated disorders among Military Veterans includes individual and group therapy and psychotherapies that can increase a person's desire to change. Involvement in outside support such as AA and other support groups is encouraged. Medications can also be available in some circumstances to help Vets decrease their drug, alcohol and tobacco use.

Substance abuse facilities for Veterans can be found during the weekend and evening hours, with both residential and outpatient programs available. Facilities that are gender-specific and those for homeless Military Vets are available in certain areas.
