SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehab Facilities - Petty, TX.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its duties is the oversight of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are centers who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Drug administered are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation programs in Petty are programs that are legally allowed to distribute the medications used in MAT as long as they remain certified and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive auxiliary services aside from medicine such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid treatment facility can receive initial certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation programs accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. Likewise, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehabilitation program is certified, they need to get re-certified each year or every three years depending on the kind of certification it has been granted.
