Naltrexone is an additional med used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs aforementioned it's an opiate blocker and isn't an opiate. There is an option to take this medication as a monthly injection, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents a person from experience being high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily shot costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 /month.
