Outpatient Methadone Buprenorphine or Vivitrol - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Centers - Gunlock, UT.

One of the outpatient rehabilitation options for people in Gunlock battling with opioid abuse and addiction is called opioid maintenance therapy. Some centers and doctors are certified to give certain medications to opioid dependent clients, many that are opioids themselves and are addiction. With low enough doses the user does not feel high but also doesn't have acute cravings and is not experiencing opioid withdrawal. Methadone is the first drug tried for this reason, but there are other options currently to select from.

Methadone is an opiate and can be taken at an out-patient medical center licensed to dispense the med, which is taken on a daily basis in liquid or pill form. The price of the med is around under $200 per month. Buprenorphine is also an opioid based med, and is in pill form often taken one day on, one day off. But unlike Methadone that can only be dispensed in highly structured clinics, Buprenorphine can be prescribed and administered in doctor's offices. The monthly cost of buprenorphine is about three hundred dollars /month for the generic of the medication. There is also a type of buprenorphine containing the drug naloxone, that is a drug which blocks the effects of opiates. An individual consuming this formulation, AKA Suboxone, would find it more difficult to get high from opioids if they relapsed while taking the drug. It is also taken on a daily basis, and costs around $450 monthly. Naltrexone is another medication used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other medications mentioned it's an opioid blocker and isn't an opiate. There is an option to take this drug as a monthly shot, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents an individual from experience being high from opioids, and in turn lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily shot costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 a month.
