There are recovery programs available in or near Gunnison that cater to both methadone and buprenorphine clients only, drugs that are administered in what is called opioid maintenance therapy. At programs which treat methadone and buprenorphine clients only, treatment therapies are generally limited beyond managing the medication and the primary treatment objective is to handle the physical symptoms of their dependence. Some centers do deliver a limited amount of counseling and group therapy as supplementary services, and it is encouraged.
