There are recovery programs offered in or near Ibapah that cater to both methadone and buprenorphine clients only, drugs that are used in what is called opioid maintenance therapy. Methadone and buprenorphine clients take these medications consistently so they don't experience cravings, withdrawal, etc. but hopefully at a dose which isn't at the same time causing them to feel high. Euphoria is possible at at higher dosages, more significantly with methadone than buprenorphine. At clinics which treat methadone and buprenorphine clients only, actual rehabilitation activities and therapies are generally limited beyond managing the medication and the main treatment goal is to treat the physical symptoms of their dependence. Some centers do provide a limited amount of counseling and group therapy as auxiliary treatment, and it is encouraged.
