Outpatient Methadone Buprenorphine or Vivitrol - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Facilities - Peoa, UT.

One of the outpatient rehabilitation options for clients in Peoa battling with opioid dependence and addiction is called opioid maintenance therapy. Some facilities and doctors are certified to administer specific meds to opioid dependent clients, many that are opioid-based themselves and are addictive. With low enough amounts the user doesn't feel high and also doesn't experience acute cravings and is not in opioid withdrawal. Methadone is the first med administered for this sole purpose, but there are a few more options to select from.

Methadone is an opiate and is meant to be taken at an out-patient clinic licensed to dispense the drug, which is taken daily in liquid or pill form. The cost of the med is about $150 per month. Buprenorphine is also an opioid based drug, and is a pill often taken every other day. But different from Methadone which can only be administered in highly well-regulated medical centers, Buprenorphine can be and is prescribed and dispensed in doctor's offices. The monthly cost of buprenorphine is about three hundred dollars per month for the generic version of the drug. There is also a type of buprenorphine that contains the ingredient naloxone, which is a med that reverses the effects of opiates. Someone taking this formulation, AKA Suboxone, would find it harder to feel high from opioids if they relapsed while taking the drug. It is also taken every day, and is priced about $450 a month. Naltrexone is another drug taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other medications mentioned it's an opioid blocker and is not an opiate. There is an option to take this drug as a monthly injection, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents someone from feeling high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily shot costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 monthly.
