Young adults between the ages of 18 and 24 years old are offered drug and alcohol rehab centers developed specifically for this age group. The most comprehensive rehabilitation available for young adults is at an inpatient treatment program in Moon which offers a wider range of recovery services than outpatient programs. Addiction disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders can be addressed simultaneously in drug treatment programs for young adults which have therapists or psychologists on site to treat co-occurring disorders.
Young adults involved in treatment programs which specifically treat their demographic benefit from having the peer support available and the compassion of treatment staff who are usually trained and experienced at working with these youths.
The length of rehabilitation can vary for young adult treatment facilities, and this is typically dependent on the client's improvement throughout the treatment process. The more severe the case is, the longer it may be suggested that the young adult remains in treatment. If outpatient treatment is the only treatment option available, this too should be intensive enough to meet the client's needs. For instance, there are outpatient programs for young adults which only require the client to attend therapy and counseling a couple of times per week, and there are programs which require daily attendance.
