Young adults between the ages of 18 and 24 years old are provided drug rehab programs created specifically for this age group. The most effective rehabilitation available for young adults is at an inpatient rehabilitation program in Rescue which provides a wider spectrum of recovery services than outpatient programs. Addiction issues and co-occurring mental health disorders can be handled simultaneously in drug treatment programs for young adults which have psychologists or therapists on site to address co-occurring disorders.
Young adults involved in treatment programs which cater to their demographic benefit from having the peer support available and the empathy of treatment staff who are commonly trained and experienced at working with these youths.
The duration of rehabilitation can vary for young adult treatment programs, and this is often dependent on the client's growth throughout the treatment process. The more progressed the case is, the longer it could be recommended that the young adult stays in the recovery process. If outpatient treatment is the only option available, this too should be intensive enough to meet the client's needs. As an example, there are outpatient programs for young adults which merely require the client to participate in therapy and counseling 1 or 2 times per week, and there are programs which require daily participation.
