Military Insurance - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Centers - Eau Claire, WI.

The military currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides insurance benefits for retired military who are 60 years of age or older and their eligible family members. With Tricare Standard they go to any civilian health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, along with any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available for Tricare Standard beneficiaries which provides access to civilian health care providers within their provider network, with a discounted coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can choose a primary doctor and obtain referrals to health care services that offer specialty care.

Through TRICARE, military members can acquire substance abuse treatment services in Eau Claire. This includes individual and group therapy including family therapy, detoxification, and other substance abuse recovery services. They will need pre-authorization for treatment and there are likely to be some limitations. Military insurance covers both inpatient and outpatient, but stays for detox are restricted to no more than 7 days. Partial hospitalization or impatient treatment following detox will only be authorized if it is an approved facility, and there are time restrictions as to how long military insurance carriers will be allowed to remain in treatment. A 3-week inpatient stay per benefit period is usually permitted. In additional to this, there are 15 family therapy sessions and 60 group therapy sessions covered per benefit period, which occur on an outpatient basis. Family therapy is covered one after the active military member has finished other rehabilitation services such as inpatient or outpatient treatment.
