The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to advance the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its obligations is the oversight of opioid rehab programs, which are centers which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medications administered are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted individuals.
