SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Facilities - Augusta, WV.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to advance the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its duties is the oversight of opioid rehab programs, which are centers which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medications administered are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab centers in Augusta are programs who are officially allowed to dispense the medications used in MAT being they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also get auxiliary benefits aside from medicine such as counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehab center can get their initial approval documentation while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment programs accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehab facility is certified, it must be re-certified each year or every 3 years depending on the type of certification it has been given.
