The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to advance the behavioral health of the United States. One of its obligations is the oversight of opioid treatment facilities, which are programs that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Drug administered are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent people.
