SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Facilities - Belington, WV.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the oversight of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are programs that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Drug prescribed are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent clients. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment programs in Belington are programs who are officially permitted to dispense the drugs used in MAT being they remain certified and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also get auxiliary services in addition to medication like psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehab facility can get their basic certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment facilities authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. Likewise, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehabilitation center is certified, it must be re-certified every year or every 3 years depending on the type of certification that was given.
