SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehab Centers - Bolt, WV.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to advance the mental health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the oversight of opioid treatment programs, which are centers that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Drug administered are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent clients. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment programs in Bolt are programs which are legally allowed to give out the medications used in MAT as long as they remain certified and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive ancillary services in addition to medicine like counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid treatment center can receive basic approval documentation while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab facilities accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. Likewise, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehabilitation facility is approved to operate, it must be re-certified each year or every three years depending on the type of certification that was granted.
