SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Facilities - Branchland, WV.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to advance the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the oversight of opioid rehab facilities, which are programs who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Drug administered are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation programs in Branchland are programs which are legally allowed to give out the medications used in MAT as long as they remain certified and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also get auxiliary services aside from medication like counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehabilitation facility can get their basic certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation facilities accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehab program is approved to operate, it must be re-certified every year or every 3 years contingent upon the type of certification that was granted.
