Alcohol and drug abuse programs for Vets are crucial for the mental health and overall stability of Vets of all branches of the armed forces. Because substance abuse and other mental health problems are found at above average rates among Veterans, it is important that Veterans get the essential help they need because of such high rates of suicide also associated with these disorders among our Vets.
Substance abuse programs for Vets in Charles Town are available through the VA, with included services such as efforts to handle associated disorders such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, pain, disturbed sleep, irritability, and/or relationship problems which most commonly trigger addiction disorders among Veterans. Treatment for substance abuse and associated problems among Vets includes individual and group therapy and psychotherapies that can increase an individual's desire to change.
