SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Programs - Delray, WV.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of health efforts to promote the mental health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the oversight of opioid rehab facilities, which are centers who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medications given are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment programs in Delray are programs who are legally permitted to dispense the drugs used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive auxiliary services aside from medicine such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid treatment facility can receive initial approval documentation while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation facilities accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehab program is certified, it must be re-certified each year or every 3 years contingent upon the kind of certification it has been granted.
