The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of health efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its obligations is the administering of opioid rehab facilities, which are centers who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medications prescribed are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted individuals.
