SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Treatment Facilities - Eckman, WV.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its obligations is the supervision of opioid rehab facilities, which are centers which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine administered are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation facilities in Eckman are programs which are legally permitted to dispense the medications used in MAT being they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also get auxiliary benefits in addition to medication such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid treatment facility can receive initial certification while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment programs accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. Likewise, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA branch. Once an opioid treatment program is certified, they need to get re-certified each year or every 3 years contingent upon the type of certification it has been granted.
