Medicare is a federal program that helps pay for health care for people living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For individuals that do have Medicare and require substance abuse rehabilitation in Fairmont, Medicare will pay for various rehabilitation programs and recovery services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering various types of treatment.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient addiction rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but individuals will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers 190 days of inpatient care total, as in during the person's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B pays up to 80% of the fees for outpatient drug and alcohol treatment. This includes outpatient care, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring disorders such as anxiety disorders or depression and drugs administered by clinics. It also pays for professional intervention services.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for individuals who want additional coverage aside from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. Individuals who have Part C may have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers substance abuse related medications. Including medications associated with treating drug and alcohol withdrawal and those required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
