The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of health efforts to advance the mental health of the U.S.. One of its obligations is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are centers that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine given are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent people.
