SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centers - Lavalette, WV.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its obligations is the supervision of opioid rehab programs, which are centers who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medications prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab programs in Lavalette are programs that are legally permitted to dispense the drugs used in MAT being they remain certified and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive auxiliary benefits aside from medication like psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid treatment center can get their initial certification while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab programs authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. Likewise, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid treatment center is certified, it must be re-certified each year or every three years contingent upon the type of certification that was granted.
