Regular out-patient recovery is usually a less costly alternative to more intensive outpatient options or inpatient treatment, and is the least intense of formal substance abuse rehabilitation available in Mount Zion. Some clients are in treatment for their first time and have picked regular outpatient because of the cost and time commitment and scheduling because of work, school or other obligations. For many, regular outpatient is a step down from rehab in a more intensive outpatient center such as a partial hospitalization or in-patient center.
Regular out-patient recovery services usually involve group and individual counseling services occurring once or twice a week. Centers that offer a more diverse array of services may include counseling (CBT) to assist with relapse prevention and dual-diagnosis services to help address co-occurring substance abuse and mental health issues. The length of time an individual remains in rehab can change from client to client, and a person's improvement can be judged from time to time and more rehab can be suggested based on these evaluations.
In many situations, a regular outpatient treatment facility is going to be insufficient in intensity for a client who is facing a severe alcohol and drug problem and has not experienced rehab before or has fallen off the wagon after previous outpatient rehabilitation.
