The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for efforts to promote the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its obligations is the oversight of opioid treatment facilities, which are centers which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Drug prescribed are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent individuals.
