The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the oversight of opioid rehab programs, which are centers who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Medications given are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation facilities in New Richmond are programs that are officially allowed to dispense the medicines used in MAT as long as they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements.
