The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to promote the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its duties is the administering of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are programs which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine given are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent clients.
