SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehab Centers - Sutton, WV.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to promote the mental health of the nation. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid rehab programs, which are programs which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine prescribed are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab centers in Sutton are programs that are legally allowed to dispense the drugs used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive ancillary benefits aside from medication such as counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid treatment center can get their basic approval documentation while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment programs accredited by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. Likewise, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehabilitation program is approved to operate, it must be re-certified every year or every 3 years contingent upon the kind of certification it has been given.
