SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehab Facilities - Uneeda, WV.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to advance the mental health of the U.S.. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are programs which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine administered are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation facilities in Uneeda are programs which are officially permitted to distribute the medications used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also get ancillary services in addition to medication such as counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid treatment center can get their initial certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab programs authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. Likewise, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid treatment program is certified, it must be re-certified every year or every three years contingent upon the type of accreditation that was granted.
