It too is taken daily, and costs approximately $450 monthly. Naltrexone is an additional drug taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other medications mentioned it's an opioid blocker and isn't an opioid. A person has the choice to take this drug as a monthly injection, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents someone from getting high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 per month.
