It is also taken every day, and costs around $450 a month. Naltrexone is an additional med taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other medications mentioned here it's an opioid blocker and is not an opiate. There is an option to take this drug as a monthly shot, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents an individual from experience being high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 per month.
