Medicare is a federal program that helps pay for health benefits for people living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 and older. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering various forms of care.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications associated with treating drug and alcohol withdrawal and those required for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
