The armed forces currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 years of age or older and their eligible family members. With Tricare Standard they receive services from any civilian health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay yearly deductible and coinsurance, as well as any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which provides access to non-military health care professionals within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Through TRICARE, military members can obtain substance abuse rehabilitation services in Big Flat. Military insurance pays for both inpatient and outpatient, but inpatient services for detox are restricted to no more than 7 days.
