The military currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families obtain health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers benefits for retired military who are 60 years of age or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they have access to any civilian health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay yearly deductible and coinsurance, in addition to any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is available for Tricare Standard beneficiaries which provides access to civilian health care professionals within their provider network, with a discounted coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all qualified family members, and with this they can choose a primary care physician and get referrals to health care services that offer specialty care.
Through TRICARE, military members can acquire substance abuse rehabilitation services in Monticello. This encompasses detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other treatment services. They will need pre-authorization for treatment and there are likely to be some limitations.
