Medicare is a federal health insurance program which helps pay for health care for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 and older. People who have Part C may have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications associated with treating withdrawal symptoms during detoxification and medications required for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
