Medicare is a federal program which helps pay for health benefits for people living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 and older. For individuals that do have Medicare and need drug or alcohol rehabilitation in Peel, this program can pay for various recovery programs and recovery services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain forms of medical care.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A pays for inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but individuals will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers a total of 190 days of inpatient care, as in during the person's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B covers up to 80% of the fees for outpatient drug and alcohol rehab. This includes outpatient services, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring disorders such as depression or anxiety and drugs administered by clinics. It also covers professional intervention services.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for people who want supplemental coverage apart from Medicare Parts A, B, and D. People who have Part C can have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers substance abuse related medications. Including medications associated with treating drug and alcohol withdrawal and those used for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
