The armed forces currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers insurance benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 years of age or older and their eligible family members. With Tricare Standard they have access to any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay yearly deductible and coinsurance, along with any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which grants access to non-military health care professionals within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is offered to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can select a primary doctor and obtain referrals to health care services that offer specialty care.
By way of TRICARE, members of the military can acquire substance abuse treatment services in Searcy. This includes detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other various rehabilitation services. They will need pre-authorization for services and there are likely to be some restrictions. Military insurance covers both inpatient and outpatient, but inpatient services for detox are limited to no more than 7 days. Partial hospitalization or impatient treatment following detoxification will only be authorized if it is an approved facility, and there are time limits as to how long military insurance carriers will be allowed to stay in treatment.
