Outpatient Methadone Buprenorphine or Vivitrol - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Facilities - Sims, AR.

One of the out-patient rehab options for people in Sims battling with opioid dependence and addiction is called opioid maintenance therapy. Licensed facilities and doctors are certified to dispense certain medications to opioid dependent clients, many of which are opioid-based also and are addiction. With low doses however, the individual does not feel high and also does not have severe cravings and isn't experiencing opioid withdrawal. Methadone is the first drug administered for this sole purpose, but there are other options to choose from.

Methadone is an opioid and is meant to be taken at an outpatient clinic licensed to dispense the med, that is taken on a daily basis as a pill or liquid. The price of the drug is approximately $150 per month. Buprenorphine is also an opioid-based drug, and is a pill often taken every other day. But unlike Methadone that can only be dispensed in structured clinics, Buprenorphine can be prescribed and dispensed in doctor's offices. The price monthly of buprenorphine is around $300 per month for the generic of the drug. There is also a version of buprenorphine that contains the ingredient naloxone, which is a med that blocks the effects of opiates. An individual consuming this formulation, also known as Suboxone, would find it more difficult to get high from opioids if they relapsed while taking the drug. It too is taken daily, and costs approximately $450 per month. Naltrexone is an additional medication used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned here it is an opiate blocker and is not an opiate. A person has the choice to take this drug as a monthly injection, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents someone from feeling high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily shot costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 monthly.
