The armed forces currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides insurance benefits for retired military who are 60 or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they have access to any civilian health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay yearly deductible and coinsurance, as well as any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available for Tricare Standard beneficiaries which allows access to non-military health care providers within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is offered to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can choose a primary doctor and obtain referrals to organizations that provide specialty care.
Through TRICARE, members of the military can receive drug and alcohol treatment services in Bisbee. This includes individual and group therapy including family therapy, detoxification, and other various treatment services. They will require pre-authorization for treatment and there are likely to be some restrictions. Military insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient, but stays for detox are restricted to no more than 7 days.
