Medicare is a federal health insurance program that helps pay for medical healthcare services for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different types of care.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications needed for drug and alcohol withdrawal and those used for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
