The armed forces currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families obtain health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they receive services from any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, in addition to any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which grants access to non-military health care providers within their provider network, with a discounted coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can choose a primary doctor and obtain referrals to health care services that offer specialty care.
Through TRICARE, military members can obtain substance abuse treatment services in Hemet. This encompasses detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other various substance abuse recovery services. They will require pre-authorization for services and there are likely to be some restrictions. Military insurance pays for both inpatient and outpatient, but inpatient services for detoxification are restricted to 7 days.
