Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different forms of treatment.

Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for people who want supplemental health insurance apart from Medicare Parts A, B, and D. Individuals who have Part C may have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications needed for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification and medications required for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
