Naltrexone is an additional drug taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs aforementioned it's an opiate blocker and is not an opiate. A person has the choice to take this medication as a monthly injection, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents a person from feeling high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily shot costs in the range of $1000 to $1200 per month.
