Medicare is a federal program which helps pay for health benefits for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 and older. For individuals who do have Medicare and need addiction treatment in National City, Medicare may pay for certain rehabilitation programs and recovery services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain forms of medical care.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications used for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification and those used for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
