Medicare - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Facilities - San Diego, CA.

Medicare is a federal program that helps pay for medical healthcare services for people living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 and older. For people who do have Medicare and require substance abuse treatment in San Diego, this program will cover certain rehab programs and treatment services. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering various kinds of medical care.

Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A pays for inpatient drug and alcohol treatment, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but individuals will be required to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers 190 days of inpatient care total, as in during the person's lifetime.

Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B covers up to 80% of the costs associated with outpatient substance abuse treatment. This includes outpatient services, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring disorders such as depression or anxiety and medications dispensed by clinics. It also pays for professional interventions.

Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an option for individuals who want supplemental health insurance apart from Medicare Parts A, B, and D. People who have Part C may have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers substance abuse related medications. Including medications associated with treating drug and alcohol withdrawal and those used for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
