Military Insurance - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Facilities - Colorado Springs, CO.

The armed forces currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides insurance benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 or older and their eligible family members. With Tricare Standard they receive services from any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay yearly deductible and coinsurance, as well as any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which allows access to civilian health care providers within their provider network, with a discounted coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is offered to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can select a primary care physician and get referrals to health care services that offer specialty care.

Through TRICARE, members of the military can acquire substance abuse rehabilitation services in Colorado Springs. This includes individual and group therapy including family therapy, detoxification, and other various rehab services. They will require pre-authorization for treatment and there will most likely be some limitations. Military insurance covers both inpatient and outpatient, but stays for detoxification are limited to no more than 7 days. An inpatient or partial hospitalization following detoxification will only be authorized if it is a Tricare approved treatment center, and there are time restrictions as to how long military insurance carriers are allowed to remain in treatment.
