Medicare is a federal health insurance program which helps pay for health benefits for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 and older. For individuals that do have Medicare and need substance abuse rehab in Denver, this program can cover certain rehab programs and recovery services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering various types of care.

Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient substance rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in treatment without a co-pay but individuals will be required to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers a total of 190 days of inpatient care, as in during the individual's lifetime.

Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B pays up to 80% of the costs for outpatient drug and alcohol treatment. Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers substance abuse related medications. Including medications needed for drug and alcohol withdrawal as well as medications required for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
