Outpatient Methadone Buprenorphine or Vivitrol - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Facilities - Eads, CO.

One of the out-patient treatment options for individuals in Eads who are struggling with opioid dependence and addiction is opioid maintenance therapy. Licensed clinics and doctors are authorized to give specific meds to opioid dependent people, many that are opioid-based themselves and are addiction. In low amounts however, the individual does not experience high feelings but also does not experience acute cravings and isn't experiencing opioid withdrawal. Methadone is the first drug administered for this purpose, but there are a few more choices currently to choose from.

Methadone is an opiate and can be taken at an out-patient clinic licensed to dispense the drug, which is taken on a daily basis as a pill or liquid. The cost of the drug is around $150 a month. Buprenorphine is also an opioid based med, and is in pill form often taken one day on, one day off. But unlike Methadone which can only be given in highly structured medical centers, Buprenorphine can be and is prescribed and administered in doctor's offices. The monthly cost of buprenorphine is approximately just under $300 per month for the generic of the medication. There is also a type of buprenorphine that contains naloxone, which is a drug which reverses the effects of opiates. Someone consuming this formulation, AKA Suboxone, would find it more difficult to feel high from opioids if they relapsed while taking the drug. It is also taken daily, and is priced approximately $450 per month. Naltrexone is an additional medication used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs aforementioned it is an opiate blocker and is not an opioid. A person has the choice to take this medication as a monthly shot, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents a person from experience being high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 monthly.
