Naltrexone is an additional med taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other medications aforementioned it is an opioid blocker and isn't an opioid. There is an option to take this drug as a monthly injection, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents an individual from feeling high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs in the range of $1000 to $1200 /month.
